A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky just came to The Majestic Ventura Theater three weeks ago and everyone that went said that he was so good.  I wish that I could’ve gone! I love all of his music and his style.  I just noticed that in all of his songs he says the same line “I be that pretty mothaf$@, harlems what I’m repping, Tell my niggas quit the b@#tching and we gon’ make it in a second”.  His voice kinda resembles Tyga’s and Wiz Khalifa’s, but his is different in his own way.  My favorite song by him right now is Wassup.

Here are my top three favorite songs by him:

Listen to him, he is so good!!

Coachella Line-Up

This week I am dedicating my blog to the different trends and news about Coachella.  Today, however, I am going to show you my favorite bands/artists performing at Coachella.  First off, I did a post on Azealia Banks already and I just found out that she is attending!

The best group performing in my opinion would be Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg.  I love all of both of there songs and duets, here are a few of my favorite songs by them:

The Black Keys are unbelievably talented.  There songs have an old school feeling with their raw sound and gritty guitar riffs, which I love about them.  My favorite album of theres is Brothers and song from album Everlasting Light .  I also love the song Gold On The Ceiling, from the most recent album El Camino.

My favorite Techno performer would probably be between Girl Talk and Kaskade.  The song Kaskade did with Deadmau5 is my favorite song ever!  It’s called Move For Me and it has a really good flow between beats and singing.  One song I came upon by Girl Talk was That’s Right and I love the way it has so many different songs incorporated in one song.

Here are the songs:

Lastly here are a few other songs from bands that are performing:

Collage of Famous Faces

For this collage, I included people that I love and/or look up to.  On the bottom left there is a picture of Jay-z and Kanye West, next to them is lil Wayne, and above lil Wayne is Zach Galifianakis.  Also, on the right side of Zach there is a picture of Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon together, and on the right to them is Kid Cudi but you can barely see him because of the bright flash.  I wanted to make this collage because I have a lot of magazines that I never look at more than once so I decided to make use of them and cut out people, places, and things.  I sorted a pile of pictures I cut out and picked my favorite ones and just made it kind of into a scene or landscape.  There were props in it too like the cat on the left side and the Beverly Hills sign on the top middle.  After putting them in the places I wanted them to be, I used double-sided tape and taped them onto a blank sheet of white paper.  Using my imagination I drew shapes and bodies onto the people and props.

Here is the collage I made!

Do people even make collages on paper with pens anymore?  Everything now is made on the computer.  Sometimes I just like to do random collages and I feel more original if I handmade it.  I know its random, but what ever! I am random

Man On The MOOn

Kid Cudi has been one of my favorite hip-hop recording artist sense 7th grade.  I first started listening to the song Day n’ Night and instantly fell in love with his tone of voice and the random but cool lyrics that go along with the flow of the beat.  Whenever I listen to his songs I feel the same way; spacey, curious, and happy.  Cudi’s first show of fame was with the song “Day n’ Night” from his first album Man on the Moon: The End of Day.  He reached number five on Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.

Kid Cudi grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and was born on January 30th, 1984 which would make him twenty-eight. Cudis real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi and his last name relates to his fame name because Mes(cudi) obviously has Cudi in it.  He rearranged the word and made it his name he is known for ‘Kid Cudi’.  His dad died from cancer when he was only eleven years old, this had a significant affect on Cudi which made a huge impact on his personality and music.  Later, Cudi admits about his daughter and says,”…I have a daughter, born March 26th of this year.  Her name is Vada, and she is f*cking awesome.”  This was in 2010 so two years ago which would make her 2 years old now.  I have not found out who the mom is so if anybody wants to fill me in that would be great!

Kid Cudi has come out with 3 albums in his career, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, Man on the Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager (my personal favorite), and WZRD that just came out.  My favorite song from his first album was Make Her Say featuring Kanye West and Common.  This song was a remix to Lady Gagas song Poker Face, and I think that the remix is way better then the original.  Last year I purchased Man on the Moon 2: The Legend of Mr. Rager and I still love it.  I have to admit alot of Kid Cudis song sound alike, but I don’t think that is bad because his tone is so unique, which makes it enjoyable to listen to his voice.

Here is I BE HIGH by kid cudi one of my all time favorites!

Shawn Carter (Jay-Z)

Jay-Z was born on December 4, 1969 and grew up in Brooklyn New York, and went to George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School along with fellow rappers Notorious B.I.G, Busta Rhymes. He rose to stardom as a hip hop icon through adversity, being abandoned by his father at a young age, shooting his brother, and selling cocaine on the streets of Brooklyn. Jay-Z is an American rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, and actor, and one of the most financially successful hip hop artists and entrepreneurs in America. He has sold over 50 million albums worldwide, received 13 Grammy awards for his musical work, and many other nominations for his success. Jay-Z acquired immense success during his first year as President Def Jam with Mariah Carey, Young Jeezy, NE-YO, and Rihanna. He has obtained the position as CEO, owner, and founder of his own record label, Roc-a-Fella Records, and was named the greatest hip-hop MC of all-time by MTV. His countless achievements have proclaimed him as one of the most successful hip-hop artists of all-time, along side pop icon and wife, Beyonce, who has shone brilliantly in the spotlight with Jay-Z, and they are recognized as one of the most noteworthy, influential couples in music history. They will forever leave a lasting mark on hip-hop and pop culture.

Jay-Z inspires me because he started out in the troubles of Brooklyn with only a dream of becoming something big. He was able to conquer his dream, and became one of the most successful rappers and hip hop artists in the world.

This is Jay-Z’s New song about his new baby Blue Ivy Carter, I fell in love with it the first time I heard it hopefully you do too!
